More Low light plants for your aquarium!

PHILIPPINE JAVA FERN (MICROSORUM PHILIPPINE)

The Philippine Java Fern is easy to grow. The leaves are slender and it can be placed in the middle of your tank.

PETITE NANA

Now here is a live plant which is fantastic for ‘small’ fish tanks. It is very easy to grow loves low light and stays small. If you have a small fish tank, then I would highly recommend this plant.

THE RED JAVA FERN (MICROSORUM PTEROPUS ‘RED’

Easy to grow, does well in low light and can be placed anywhere in your fish tank.
It gives a nice reddish color leaf.

CRYTOCORYNE APONOGETIFOLIA

This plant grows large and can be used as a background plant. It does not like to be moved once it’s placed.

The following are some more wonderfully easy to grow live plants for your aquarium.



JAVA FERN (MICROSORUM PTEROPUS) and also (‘TROPICA’)

You attach this plant to decorations, driftwood or smooth rocks. Do not plant it directly into the substrate. It is a very popular plant. It is slow growing, but very easy to care fore.

It makes a great plant for your Siamese fighting fish/ Betta fish and your Cory Catfish.

JAVA MOSS (VESICULARIA DUBYANA)


Slow growing, but easy. Low light and can be left floating, so no need to attach it to anything. It is also very popular with lots of people.

HORNWORT (1) (CERATOPHYLLUM SUBMERSUM)
HORNWORT (2) (CERATOPHYLLUM DEMERSUM)


The first plant is a hardy low light plant. It helps to rid your water of excess nutrients. It can be left floating or planted in the substrate.
The same goes for the second plant, but it has rougher stems and leaves, so it may not be suitable for your Siamese fighting fish/Betta fish, African Dwarf Frog or Cory Catfish.

LACE JAVA FERN. (MICROSORUM PTEROPUS ‘WINDELOV’.

This is a slow growing easy to care for plant. You can plant it anywhere in your tank, but you must attach it to driftwood, or smooth rocks and not in the substrate.

Aquarium Live Plants for your fish tank

SIX AQUARIUM LIVE PLANTS THAT ARE EASY TO GROW!

In this article I would like to inform you of some very easy to grow aquarium live plants.

I will give you a list of 6 different plants that are very easy to grow for beginners and anyone else who may need a low light live plant for their aquarium.

NO. 1

ANUBIAS NANA

This is a very easy to grow live plant and wonderful for your African Dwarf Frog as they will be able to find good hiding places.

Anubias Nana requires low lighting and you can place it in the foreground.
Mature plants will flower in your aquarium. Beware of algae growth which may occur with too much light.

NO. 2

CONGENSIS ANUBIAS ‘CONGENSIS’

Another live plant that’s very easy to grow. Requires low light and can be placed anywhere in your tank.

NO. 3

ANUBIAS ‘GRACILIS’

This plant grows in low light, and can be placed anywhere in your tank. It grows very big so I would recommend that you use this plant only if you have a large tank.

NO. 4

ANUBIAS ‘GIGANTE’

The name tells you that this plant also grow very big. You can use it in a large aquarium as a backdrop. It is very easy to grow, also in low light.

NO. 5

ANUBIAS ‘AFZELLI’

You can place this plant anywhere in your tank. It is a slow grower and is prone to algae. It is easy to grow in low light.

NO.6

ANUBIAS ‘BARTERI’

Do not place this plant in the substrate, as with most of the others. Tie them to a smooth rock or driftwood. They need low light, are very easy to grow and can be placed in the middle of your tank.


All of the above plants are very easy to grow, all in low light and will greatly enhance the appearance of your aquarium.

Your Siamese fighting fish/ Betta fish, African Dwarf Frog and Cory Catfish will thrive in any of these live plants.
